How much will it cost to get a Iphone LCD screen replaced?

I dropped my Iphone 3g and the LCD panel/screen whatever you like to call it actually cracked. The glass didnt crack but the LCD screen/panel did? Weird? Yes. How much would it cost to replace this?

I hear you can get the replacement screens and glass pretty cheap, and there’s some videos on YouTube that show how to do this.
Otherwise, the answer is “a lot.”
SAME thing happened to me!!
I took it into Apple… and they replaced it for free. They didn’t ask for any paperwork or anything… it was kinda weird. Just took the phone into the back, 4min later came out with my new fixed phone.
