How do I keep my LCD monitor from streaking when I clean it?

February 17, 2011, Posted by admin at 2:44 am

Whenever I clean off my LCD monitor, it leaves streaks behind – not really visible, but noticeable when the monitor’s off.

I currently use special wipes for it (LCD screen wipes that I bought from MicroCenter) and a soft cloth (it’s an iMac; it comes with a cloth recommended for cleaning). Still streaks.

wipe it over and over in the same direction using bounty towel paper! straight after cleaning it with your stuff!

    1: Dry dust lightly first.
2: With the monitor off, spray water on a clean wipe (I’m not sure you need the special ones, but go with those if you have them).
3: Wipe off the monitor without pressing too hard.
4: Dry with a soft dry cloth.

If you still have streaks, repeat.

I know exactly what you mean! been there. I use the iClear… it has been very helpful. Also…. when you are wiping it do it in a circular motion small to medium in size until you’ve wiped the whole area. never leaves a streak!
Make sure you use a good quality micro-fiber cloth type.

What type of cloth are you using. For LCD screens your only supposed to use a microfiber cloth. Look at the wipes that your using as well.
