Can a perfectly healthy laptop battery die overnight?

Hi, I use an HP laptop, which is about 20 months old now, but I had a battery life of about 3 hours all this while. Yesterday, My laptop began to run extremely slow, and it wouldn’t charge my battery. Now I can work my laptop only with the AC charger. Is it possible my battery just died overnight? And how is it my processor is super slow the same time?

im not sure but if it says 3 hours it will probs go in 2, about once a year i buy a new charger for my advent 9415 laptop for £15 from amazon.co.uk works well 1 year guarantee but even fully charged will only last me 10 mins for some reason so needs to be in all the time whilst in use.

While these things rarely are because of something that just happened all of a sudden it can such as getting a bad battery, but it seems more likely that the battery was constantly being drained all the way down and then charged, which can wear out batteries quickly, or that the computer was kept constantly plugged in and the battery never used, which can also cause it to die faster.

Your battery is dead, it always has a life-cycle about 500 to 1000 used times, you can see if your laptop battery used for 1 year or longer? If yes, that your battery likely dead, need to get a new replacement one!
What is your laptop part number and model, you can find cheap replacement battery for all brands at here: http://www.mambate.us/HP-Compaq-Laptop-Battery-s/89.htm
